Build a home for Raja & Kowshi

DSC0329.jpg

Rajah, Kowshi, and their three children (Abishek, 12, Angel, 9, and Jerom, 8) own their own property— on which they have a small home, which consists of a single bedroom, a hall and small kitchen. The house is made from basic materials, and is sadly starting to deteriorate. It gives them little shelter in the monsoon rains and as it is not secure, their belongings are always at risk of being stolen. Rajah works Monday - Friday as a hair dresser in a salon. His income is variable but mostly he makes enough in a month to meet his family’s day to day needs.

Both Rajah & Kowshi are part of the New Living Flame Church ministry team. Out of the goodness of their hearts, they’ve committed to running all the house groups in the remote villages of Jaffna, and in the surrounding areas. Every evening, after Rajah has finished his full day’s work at the Salon, he and Kowshi will go to run the various house groups in these outer villages.

£6,600 will provide a family in Jaffna, Sri Lanka with the materials they need to build a house. Sponsored families will work alongside a local contractor to construct a basic home. They are also taught how to maintain their house to ensure sustainability.
